Correction Retraction Policy

  1. Corrections (Errata)

Corrections are issued when honest errors are identified in a published article that affect the accuracy but do not compromise the overall findings and conclusions. These may include:

  • Minor errors in data or results presentation
  • Typographical or formatting mistakes
  • Incorrect author affiliations or contributor names
  • Omissions in acknowledgments or funding sources

Correction Process:

  • Authors or readers may notify the editor of errors.
  • The editorial board will assess the nature and impact of the error.
  • If warranted, a correction notice (erratum) will be published and linked to the original article.
  1. Retractions

A retraction will be considered when:

  • There is evidence of misconduct (e.g., data fabrication, plagiarism, unethical research)
  • The findings are unreliable due to major errors or methodological flaws
  • The article has been published in error (e.g., duplicate publication)
  • Author(s) request retraction for valid academic reasons

Retraction Process:

  • A formal investigation will be conducted by the editorial board.
  • Authors will be given an opportunity to respond.
  • If retraction is justified, a retraction notice will be published clearly stating the reason.
  • The original article will remain online but marked as "Retracted" in all versions.
  1. Article Removal

In rare cases, an article may be completely removed from the journal website when:

  • It is subject to legal action (e.g., defamation, court order)
  • Its contents pose a serious health or security risk

In such cases, a notice will remain on the page explaining why the content has been removed.

  1. Author Responsibilities

Authors are expected to:

  • Notify the journal promptly if a significant error is discovered in their work
  • Cooperate fully with editorial procedures related to corrections or retractions
  • Uphold high standards of publication ethics and transparency
  1. Editorial Independence

All decisions regarding corrections and retractions are made independently by the Karismavit Health Journal editorial board based on the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) guidelines.
